Wet crawls space due to drainage and increased rainfall. It used to be draw but now has water coming out the lowest part of the house foundation.

We moved into our home in September and are now looking at high gas heating bills ($189 Nov/$300 Dec). We are paying more here in Toano for 3000sf than we did for an older 4800sf house in Yorktown and are interested in seeing what can be done. We keep our thermostat at 68°, but the house always feels cold on the main floor. HVAC has been looked at and is working well.

I need gutters installed on the front and back of our ranch style home

I am using more natural gas in heating with an ever-increasing bill. I'd like to lower it!

We have a finished basement and after the last storm water came in from dont know where and saturated the entire basement carpet. We cant figure out how the water got in. We had the basement carpet removed alone with baseboards and sheetrock. Before we fix the basement back we need this situation to be addressed.

Moisture on crawl space and musty smell

I'm reaching out to see what my options are with my current dehu situation. I had the unit serviced back in October 2019 I believe. I've noticed in the last several months that I can hear my system running for a good part of the day. Typically in the evenings and through the night. I don't pay attention to it much during the day being that I'm not home and the normal household noises drown it out. I contacted you and Chad when my system was first installed a few years ago because it was doing the same thing. But at that time the humidity was reading 30%. Chad notified me upon checking it out that 30% was too dry and it was set incorrectly. I'm wondering if it was set incorrectly or may need tweaking from this last service. I typically check the humidity once a day in passing and it never changes from 45%. So I didn't see need for concern. My concern this evening was my wife and I were laying in bed and heard a loud whining sound. I traced the sound to the dehu system. I can hear it through the floor. In my experience with motors and pumps it sounds mechanical. Like maybe bearings going bad. I suspect this may be from the system running so much for months on end. I'm just curious if I need to pay for a service call? The system is powered from a GFI in the garage. I tripped the GFI so the system is not damaged further. I believe Alex was the last Tech to service the system. Thank you.

We have noticed a musty odor recently and think it may be coming from the crawl space

Two Issues: - Standing water in crawlspace, mold growth, wet insulation (looking for recommendation/price of encapsulation & dehumidifier) -3rd Floor Renovated Attic - Very warm, air is unable to escape. Looking for suggestions/info on attic fan.

Over the years fiberglass insulation has fallen from under floor joist.

Need an estimate on my crawlspace

House was built on a slab in cy 2000 on a slab. We have been living here since 2004 and have always experienced drafts and low temps during the winter. On Monday of this week our thermostat was set at 74 but it never got higher than 61. Currently the thermostat is set at 74 and the house can not go beyond 66. Our bedroom is the warmest room on the first floor. Will your Home Energy Audit give us answers on what to do? How much?

High Heating Costs--Crawl space insulation

We bought this house in May, 2014. At the time, the home inspector indicated some moisture on the south side of the crawl space but, we didn't think much about it because there had been some heavy rain prior to the inspection. Since we moved in, I have noticed a mild musty odor in part of the house near where the moisture was noted. There are a couple places where the yard does not drain well. A recent visit from the heating and air conditioning person indicated continued moisture in the crawl space. We are looking for an assessment and an estimate of the costs of (a) drying the crawl space and (b) remediating the adjacent drainage problems.

Need advice on how to control condensation in crawl space in summer months

Concerned about a damp crawl space

Not enough insulation in the attic space. House seems to be cold, considerably colder in the downstairs space even with 2 systems. Room over the garage cold in winter too hot in summer.
